Demineralisation is the process in which positive and negative ions of the mineral salts present in water are removed, leaving behind pure water molecules or trace amounts of these ions. These ions are removed by the process of ion exchange, degasification, and polishing. Therefore this water is completely or almost free of dissolved minerals. Demineralisation plants are installed in various industries which include pharmaceuticals, automobile, battery and chemical industries.
